The I-T department has issued a new set of guidelines on associating Aadhaar with voter list 2023. The guidelines have been issued to all states, including Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The central government will also provide Rs 50 crore for the same purpose as part of its ‘Make In India’ initiative.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has directed all state governments to ensure that everyone is enrolled on their respective voter lists by December 31, 2020 or face action against them under various laws like Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
